The U.S. House is already in session, and the Senate will return to business on Monday. Both houses are well past their target adjournment dates for the year and seem determined to conduct significant business before the end of the calendar year. While one assumes that they will take a break for Christmas/Hannukah, we may need to be alert right through the end of the year because [drum roll], they still have to pay for rebuilding after the devastation of Katrina. That means, of course, that our public safety net for the poorest and sickest of our citizens is on the table for slicing and dicing (can you say "turkey"?).
Take a moment to call your congresscritter and both senators to let them know that you don't want Medicaid cuts for Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa/ever. Go to Who Represents Me? to find out who represents you, and call 'em!
